EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Tyler Heinz, PA-C is a Certified Physician Assistant specializing in ophthalmology. He graduated from Centereach High School in New York, and then attended Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry in 2021. He went on to attend Touro University, where he earned both his Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2025. Prior to his advanced training, Tyler worked as an ophthalmic technician and ophthalmic scribe, gaining valuable hands-on experience in patient care and clinical ophthalmology. Tyler relocated from Long Island, New York to Suffolk, Virginia in May 2025 to join Schneider Eye Physicians & Surgeons. In his current role, he is actively involved in the care of post-operative patients following cataract, refractive, glaucoma, and laser surgeries, as well as pre-operative evaluations for surgery. He manages chronic eye conditions such as glaucoma and dry eye disease, performs in-office procedures, and assists in surgical care alongside Dr. Schneider.

PERSONAL:

Tyler grew up on Long Island, New York, and now resides in the Suffolk, Virginia area with his family. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and family, including golfing, skiing, camping, and fishing.
